MOVE TO DEVELOP IBESE: ABORO RECEIVE POWERFUL DELEGATION OF DANGOTE INDUSTRIES PLC ON A COURTESY VISIT


In the early hours of Friday December 9th, 2022, our highly respected custodian of culture, tradition and development of Ibese land, His Royal Majesty Alayeluwa Oba Rotimi Oluseyi Mulero, Ilufemiloba Olokojobi III, played host of a powerful delegation comprising of top officials in the Board of Directors from Ikoyi, Lagos Head Office of Dangote Industries Plc, who paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Aboro of Ibese Land in the ancient town of Ibese.


The head of the delegation, Mr D.V.G Edwin, who is the Executive Director Capital Projects, Strategy and Portfolio Development of Dangote Industries Plc, while paying homage to Kabiesi Aboro of Ibese, said he brought greetings from the Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group, in person of Alhaji Aliko Dangote and on behalf of the entire management and staff of the group congratulate His Majesty, on his ascension to the ancient throne of his forefathers while praying that may Kabiesi live long on the throne.


He further assured Kabiesi that the entire Dangote Industries Plc is all ready to work in line with Kabiesi's developmental agenda for the kingdom in the area of Youth employment and empowerment, economic and social growth, adequate security and other challenges that may be hindering the development of the kingdom. And as part of the company's corporate social responsibility to the host community, Mr D.V.G Edwin reiterated the commitment of the leadership of the company to add to the value of Ibese land and her embedded natural resources with a befitting status worthy of the land and it's people.


Alayeluwa in his welcome address, welcome the delegation to the Palace and also urged that the company take seriously into consideration, the challenges facing the youths in the kingdom and the rate of unemployment in the kingdom is quite worrisome despite being the host of one of the largest industries in Africa such as Dangote Cement factory, kabiesi further opined that the efforts of promoting a peaceful coexistence between the people and the company cannot be overemphasized than putting measures in place to get the idling indigenes of the Kingdom engaged in employment and empowerment, this is the easiest way to further smoothen and strengthen the existing mutual cooperation to aid a sustainable business environment/working environment. 


His Majesty further expatiated on the need for the management to always give priority to the host community indigenes by supporting with establishments such as vocational training center, ultra modern market, improved educational facilities e.t.c. that will help improve the social, economical, educational and vocational status of our people.


On behalf of the Aboro-in-council, High Chief Leke Ibikunle, FCIB, the Ekarun of Ibese land, on the directive of Kabiesi Aboro of Ibese, while doing the vote of thanks appreciated Mr D.V.G Edwin and all members of the team for the timely visit while also assuring the team of the total commitment of Kabiesi Aboro, the Council of Chiefs and the entire people of Ibese land in ensuring the sustainability of the mutual cooperation that exists between the company and the Kingdom.
