** Shun Electoral Violence, Thuggery and Manipulation, Olofin Urges Nigerians At NCTRN General Assembly


On Monday 12th of December, 2022, The traditional emblem and progenitor of all Aworis, Olofin Asholesa, His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba (Engr.) Sulaimon Adekunle Bamgbade, Ayodele Edun Alaka III, Arole Olofin Ogunfunminire, Olofin of Isheri and Adimula of Awori Kingdoms, attends the 13th General Assembly of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NTCRN) alongside top Traditional rulers in Nigeria amongst which the President and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Kehinde Gbadewole,  Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro, at Nicon Luxury, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.


The event was themed: Planning and preparation towards a successful conducts of 2023 General Elections and Population Census, the expected roles of Traditional Rulers.

This event is an historical one and a greater height attained for the Aworis as it had for the first time the attendance of our highly revered Olofin Adimula and occupier of the ancient and most exalted stool of the Olofin Ogunfunminire of Awori kingdoms.


Kabiesi Arole Olofin Ogunfunminire while addressing the press at the end of the event reiterated his commitment and that of all traditional rulers of Awori clan to continue ruling in line with complimenting the effort of the government towards shunning electoral manipulations, thuggery and violence.

Olofin further urged all Nigerian citizens to ensure the collection of their permanent voters card (PVC) in order for them to be able to vote for their choice at the polls in preparation for the 2023 General Elections. We the traditional rulers are the closest to our people and they listen to our directives at all time as the custodian of their culture and traditions. Hence we must ensure to lead them aright against all sorts of illegality and criminal acts that can result to unrest and destruction of lives and properties in the course of voting of a preferred candidate. Kabiesi pray that may the best leader who truly has the interest of bringing the goodies and dividends of true democracy closer to the people with the aim of uplifting our great country to it's rightful place amidst the best countries in the world, emerge.


We have also been consulted on the forthcoming 2023 Population and Housing Census, for this reason we urged our people to support and submit themselves in the most appropriate and friendly manner for them to be counted. Kabiesi added.


The event had in attendance the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, CFR; the Sultan of Sokoto and Chairman of NCTRN, His Eminence, Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR; the Ooni of Ife, Arole Oodua and Co-Chairman of NCTRN, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), CFR; Obi of Onitsha, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe (Agbogidi), CFR; Emir of Borno, Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewa Land, HRM Oba Dr. Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, MFR; Onisan of Isan Ekiti, HRM Oba Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon, CFR, Olugbon Orile Igbon, HRM Oba Francis Olushola Alao, Alara of Epe, HRM Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, Atayero of Aramoko, HRM Oba Dr. Aderemi Olusegun Idowu amongst other very prominent Traditional Rulers from all the States of Nigeria.


The National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria is the umbrella body of all Nigerian Traditional Rulers with the aim of ensuring the unity, progress and development of the country through the influence of the custodians of Culture and Traditions across all ethnic groups.
