Truly Aworis Are Breaking Barriers In Lagos - Ogbeni Ajibode Extols AWAN Leadership At 5th World Omoluabi Festival And Awards

About 5th Omoluabi Festival: Truly Aworis Are Breaking Barriers In Lagos, All Thanks To AWAN Leadership

As we round up the 5th edition of the World Omoluabi Festival recently held at the National Theatre of the centre of excellence and Awori city filled with prosperity and economic advancement i.e Lagos State, one cannot but appreciate all energies and support that played active roles in the success recorded at the event staged for the purpose of celebrating the proud Omoluabi ethos and norms of our people.

As there is an aged long aphorism of our founding fathers that says "ka dúpẹ lọwọ ejika tio jẹ kí aṣọ bọ lọrun ati wípé ka dúpẹ lọwọ ẹni tó rí ní to mọju nítorí pé ọpọlọpọ ni'o wo ibi tawa", these adages are to ascertain the deepest and special appreciation from the entire members and leadership of Igbimọ Àpapọ Yorùbá Lágbayé i.e Yoruba Council Worldwide and all her affiliating bodies to the leadership of Awori Welfare Association of Nigeria (AWAN) under the headship of Ashiwaju (Alh.) Muhammed Olagbaye and all the Aworis in both Lagos and Ogun State respectively for their massive contribution and mobilization that played effective roles in adding glamour to the event.

In my double capacity as a member of the Youth wing of the Yoruba Council Worldwide (Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide) and as a prominent youth figure of the Awori Welfare Association of Nigeria, I am also using this medium to appreciate all Awori Royal Fathers that contributed in one way or the other to the success of the program, part of which are; His Royal Majesty, Oba Suleiman Adekunle Bangbade (Ayodele Ẹdun Alaka III), the Olofin Adimula of Isheri, Oba (Engr.) Monsuru Abimbola Oladege, Akinmasa 1, the Olu of Agboyi Ketu, Oba Saheed Ademola, Kushenla III, Elegushi of Ikate, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, the Oniru of Iru Land amongst other highly revered Royal fathers of note.

My special appreciation and congratulations also goes to Ashiwaju Muhammed Olagbaye, the President of AWAN, Mr Oye Taiwo, the Chairman of Awori Think tank, Alhaji Rtn. Labaika, the Secretary of AWAN, Mrs Olaopin Grace and the lucky recipients of our prestigious Omoluabi Royal Icon Award; Yeye (Alh.) Mufuliat Abimbola Adebunmi, the Yeye Atunluṣe Omoluabi Oodua Agbaye, Aare Prof. Jelili Olorunfunmi Atiku, the Aare Atunluṣe Ọmọluabi Oódua Agbaye, and Aare Esv. Wale Akinyemi, the Aare Asoludero Ọmọluabi Oodua Agbaye. These special appreciation is to acknowledge the wowing mobilization of our fellow Ọmọluabi Aworis to the event which eventually revived the hope of our people's ownership of Lagos to the world.

It is not an understatement to say that the Aworis are truly breaking barriers in both Lagos and Ogun State under the AWAN leadership of Ashiwaju Muhammed Olagbaye whom leadership traits has relentlessly paved way of introducing and participating in norms initiatives that has successfully been showcasing the exceptionality of Awori culture, traditions and norms to the good face of the world.

At the 5th World Omoluabi Festival held in Lagos, the chants and praises of the Aworis performances ranging from; Wọrọ Ejigbo, Egungun Isolo and the Cultural display from Agboyi, amongst other interesting displays of Awori's entertaining performances that were mobilized to add glamour to the event, are what has refreshed my pride of belonging to the Awori race. For this singular reason I have the full pride of boasting of my origin amongst my fellow Omoluabis in the council that traveled from far and wide to visit Lagos and experience the richest aspect of Lagos cultural performance, as a proud Omo olófin agboderin, all thanks to the leadership of AWAN that is trolling a productive path of taking the Awori race to greater heights.

It is on this note that I use this opportunity to seek the attention of all Awori Royal Fathers, Political/Religious leaders, business elites and all relevant stakeholders in the struggle of Aworis emancipation, to let's join hands with the leadership of AWAN in their mission advocating for a united and progressive Awori that will help build a formidable entity.

It is for the betterment of each and every sons and daughters of Awori land if all our kingdoms can come together to collectively focus on building what binds us together teacher than what divides us as a people of common culture and history.

Iponri Awori Agbe Wa
