Democracy Day: Let's Retrace Our Steps For Stronger Democratic System, Olofin of Isheri Urge Nigerians
His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba (Engr.) Sulaimon Adekunle Bamgbade, Ayodele Edun Alaka III, Arole Olofin Ogunfunminire, Olofin of Isheri and Adimula of the Source of Awori Kingdoms, has called on all patriotic Nigerians to join hands and let's retrace the steps of rewriting the wrongs in our country for the sake of building a more stronger and better democratic system in line with the international best practices, while further urged for prayers and support for the success of the government at all levels.
The foremost monarch and traditional emblem from the Source of Awori Clan in his message released to the press from the ancient Olofin of Isheri palace opined that Nigerians have every reason to be proud of been blessed with the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President of Nigeria after 30 years of being part and parcel of the Presidential campaign of late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola "Hope 93 elections" that has since been regarded as the most free, fair and credible but unjustly nullified election, because this affirms that the labor and sacrifices of our past heroes such as the 14th Aare Ona Kankanfo of Yoruba Land has been brought back alive."
Kabiesi further urged that "For the 24 (twenty-four) years of uninterrupted democracy, it is only expected of us all as an indivisible entity with differences in political ideologies, religious beliefs and ethnic backgrounds, to come together to cross fertilize ideas that will help contribute to the development, progress and unity of our nation in a way that will compliment the efforts of the government."
"As we all know, democracy is known to be the government of the people, by the people and for the people, it is on this basis that we call for justice, fairness and equity to all and sundry."
Kabiesi Olofin Asholesha then concluded by congratulating the entire Nigerians most especially the indigenous people of Awori both in Lagos, Ogun and those in the diaspora, on the occasion of June 12 - Democracy Day. "A prayer for the success of our President; Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu of Lagos State is a prayer for a continuous prosperous Nigeria".
