OPEN LETTER FROM YORUBA COUNCIL OF YOUTHS WORLDWIDE TO PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR, FOR REQUEST ON JOINT COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS IN ENSURING A BETTER NIGERIA

Your Excellency Sir,

1. With the greatest respect and Omoluabi regards yo Your Excellency, we the Youth leaders of the above named organization are using this medium to express our utmost joy to know that you have won the elections as the duly elected President of our great nation i.e Federal Republic of Nigeria Your excellency's victory with a large majority has filled us as your sons and daughters with immense joy. Hence, we take this opportunity to congratulate you on your well deserved success.

2. Your Excellency, you must be highly content with this new feet as you have undoubtedly worked very hard to achieve this position. Your commitment, experience and dedication to nation building has helped you attain this highest position in the history of our great nation. 

3. Your Excellency, we are confident that you will be able to put many things back on track now which have long gone haywire. And we are sure now that with your level of competency, all pending menaces that has befallen our nation ranging from education, youth development, agricultural revolution and innovations amongst many others will be resolved.

4. Your Excellency, we the undersigned Youth leaders of Yoruba land and Yoruba Communities across the federation under the auspicious umbrella of Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide (YCYW), have therefore jointly resolved to contribute our quota in the development of our great nation most especially now that we are confident in your excellency's manifesto and vision towards ensuring that our people's experience economic boom through our gifted culture and traditions.

5. Your Excellency, as you continue to pilot the affairs of our people and our great nation through a sustainable strategy that is reinvigorating and harnessing the age long town and gown sustainable partnership for the development of a creative economy. It’s a pivotal knowledge-based economy pressing priority that we join Your Excellency to believe in proffering solutions to our current astronomical unemployment issues, youth development, agricultural revolution and improved education and national wealth prosperity. 

6. However, with utmost respect, it will interest Your Excellency to know that we played our pivotal roles as expected during the electioneering season under the able vision of our President General; Aare Oba Oladotun Hassan Esq. with the initiative of "Omoluabi Coalition 4 Tinubu" which was formulated in support of our Royal Father; His Imperial Majesty, Arole Oodua, Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi - Ojaja II , the Ooni of Ife and other Royal fathers across the southwest mission to see ensure that our people key into the vision of ensuring that your Excellency emerge. "Omoluabi Coalition 4 Tinubu" was established as a support group to support, defend, campaign and as well canvass for votes of the APC at the Presidential, National Assembly and Gubernatorial elections.

7. Your Excellency, it is on this note that we write this piece to your Excellency as Youth leaders under the fruitful Presidential headship of Aare Oba Oladotun Hassan Esq. the President of Yoruba Council Worldwide (Igbimọ Àpapọ Yorùbá Lágbayé) in order to plead and recommend to your Excellency on the need to consider some of our foremost youth leaders most especially our President in whom we are well please and confident, for a political appointment that will suit his professional skills under your led-administration.

8. Your Excellency, Aare Oladotun Hassan, Esq. in his capacity and little resources has relentlessly been defending and promoting the genuine interest of Yoruba people in his capacity as the President of Yoruba Council Worldwide and that of the united Nigerian people with his capacity as the Secretary-general of National Coalition of Ethnic Nationalities Youth leaders forum, he has predicted his struggle for a united Nigeria in line with the vision and mission of His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, most especially during the time of yearning for secession, and inter tribal war that almost erupted to unrest and breakdown of law and order across all Yoruba towns and immunities across the Country, Aare Barr. Oladotun Hassan, in his intellectual prowess stood his ground by maintaining that a united Nigeria is our utmost priority as a council vis-a-vis television programs, radio presentations/debates, social media broadcasts, participation at Official programs centered on National unity in order to bring to a lasting end to the intertribal and interreligious conflicts that has been hindering the progress and development of our nation.

9. Your Excellency Sir, we understand that some of our leaders in the past and current have played roles that are not much appreciative but we make bold to say that Aare Dotun Hassan with his vision that is in alignment with that of the ancient Ile Oòduà, has always been making us proud and we hope that it is only important in the interest of Millions of Yoruba People across the world that your Excellency give to him the total support and consideration as a rallying point to always defend promote the Yoruba interest with Your excellency's pronouncement and recognition of Yoruba Council Worldwide as the apex and only umbrella body for the Yoruba People.

10. Your Excellency, it is also not new to your Excellency, that Aare Dọtun Hassan has done alot for our people in his capacity as part of his Vision and mission for the liberation of Southwest vis-a-vis appearances/debates of television stations, radio stations, news headlines and countless of press conferences and physical consultations he has been engaging in defense of our people and heritage. Amongst his numerous projects is mobilization of all Yoruba Sons and Daughters in their thousands to Omoluabi Festival in there thousands on yearly basis.

11. Your Excellency, Aare Dọtun Hassan has also on so many occasions presented bills to the National Assembly for onward deliberations and passage into law as part of his intellectual contributions to the development and unity of our country, one of such events was on the 1st June, 2021 at the Southwest Zonal public hearing in Lagos of the Constitution Review organized by the 1999 Constitution Review Committee of the Federal House of Representatives. Some of the bills that has been presented include the following;

• National Youths Development Commission

• National Youths Right Laws

• National Education Right Law mandatory 35% budget allocation to the Education Sector

• Review and incorporation of the Old National Anthem into the New One.

• Additional Proposals:

• National Referendum and Plebiscite Commission

• Southwest Development Commission

• National Joint Regional Security Network Agency to be added into the law enforcement agency act

• National/Southwest Agricultural Economic Development Zones Commission

• Special Economic Status for Lagos State 

• Removal of the Decree 21 establishment clause and reinstatement of a new "We the People having jointly reviewed and resolved to provide ourselves this 2021 Constitution. 

12. Your Excellency, we urge that as your administration continue to make us proud, we urge Your Excellency to ensure to surround yourself with more experts and fellow visionaries that would at all points contribute intellectually to your success.

13. We also use this medium to plead to your Excellency to consider releasing totally our dear brother, Chief Sunday Adeyemo Igboho whom has remained in partial detention in the past months.

14. Hence, on behalf of the entire millions of Yoruba Youths across the world, we shall appreciate the onward consideration of this demands while we guarantee your Excellency of our utmost commitment and loyalty to your government always.
