Be Ambassadors of Peace, And Initiate Developmental Ideas - Olota Urges Youths, Inaugurates Otta Youths Assembly
As part of his Majesty's efforts in ensuring a united and peaceful coexistence amongst communities across Otta kingdom, our most revered Royal Father, Olofin Apesin Oloode and Olota of Otta, His Royal Majesty, Oba Professor Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege P.hD, MCIPR, MPRII, FHEA, Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode, has officially inaugurated the Otta Youths Assembly (O.Y.A) at his at his ancient Olota Palace on the 27th of June, 2023.
The foremost Awori Monarch while addressing the gathering of prominent youths stakeholders drawn across all the villages and towns under the Royal authority of Ota kingdom, charged youths to always be peaceful ambassadors that will only be concerned with the unity, progress and development of their communities, "it has become imperative that all Otta youths are brought together under the authority of an indivisible entity that will be saddled with the responsibilities of catering for the interest of the larger youth constituency of Otta, which we believe will contribute and compliment our efforts in ensuring the swift inclusion of our teaming youths in decision making."
"It is high time we start bringing to a lasting end all factors that leads to our divisiveness and chart a new way to more prosperous and all encompassing Otta Awori Kingdom, Kabiesi Olota then urge the newly inaugurated President, Comr. Ogunseye Oluwatoyin and the Secretary, Prince Jimmy Okunade Akingbola to ensure all possible mobilization and inclusion of all youths in other towns and villages under the jurisdiction of Ota, in such a way that the vision and mission behind the formulation of Otta Youths Assembly would be generally accepted and actualized."
The newly inaugurated President of Otta Youths Assembly who also doubles as the Secretary of Ijana Youth Development Association, Comrade Ogunseye Oluwatoyin, on his acceptance speech appreciated Kabiesi Olota for his style of Royalty that has been playing pivotal role in achieving notable development that cut across all spheres of our beloved Otta kingdom and people. He further saluted all youth leaders and prominent figures that played active roles in his emergence as the President, he then assured Kabiesi Olota and all participants of the inaugural meeting that he will not disappoint all the trust that has been embedded in his person.
Comr. Toyin said the task placed in his care is a very huge one and he will take it so dearly and see it as a challenge and opportunity to serve in a way that will build bridges between the Traditional leader, Political figures, Elders and the youths of the kingdom across all villages and towns under Otta territory, while also calling for all-round supports from all relevant stakeholders in the land for the total eradication of the challenges such as youths unemployment, poor infrastructure and all menace in our society, "together we can achieve the unthinkable within the shortest period of time" he added.
He further explained that Ota Youth Assembly (O.Y.A) is a coalition of all the major indigenous youth and student groups in the whole Otta Awori Kingdom, established with the sole aim of promoting unity and harmonious relationship towards ensuring the overall development of our socio-economic growth and cultural heritage advancements, and improving the general level of the our intellectual culture and tradition, and to coordinate all Otta youths and students in pursuit of leadership excellence, equality and create an avenue to cross-fertilize purposeful ideas, and more importantly, this is great initiative that any community that seeks progress and happiness must emulate, promote and protect.
Also at the inaugural meeting was the newly inaugurated Secretary, Prince Jimmy Okunade Akingbola, the Akeweje of Otta, Ajeweje Obinrin of Otta, all quarters Chairmen and other very important Youth personalities across Otta Kingdom were all in attendance in allegiance to the new Youth leadership of the land.
