Aboro Ibese Inaugurates Organizing Committee for 2024 Asakanran Day

Our highly revered Royal father, His Majesty, Oba Rotimi Oluseyi Mulero, Arole Asakanran, Olokojobi III, the Aboro of Ibese land, has officially inaugurated the organizing committee for the 2024 Asakanran Festival (a.k.a. Ọdún Ọmọ Asakanran).


The committee under the coordination of Chief Olabimtan Dauda Olasunkanmi (Inasua) was inaugurated by Kabiesi Aboro at the Aboro's residence on Wednesday, October 14th, 2024. During the inauguration, His Majesty, urged the Coordinator of the committee to put his exposure and expertise to proper use by ensuring all hands are on deck for the for the successful hosting of the festival. 

Oba Mulero then encouraged committee to exceed expectations for this year's edition. His Majesty also emphasized the importance of all inclusive planning, urging the committee to ensure the participation of all sons and daughters of Ibese town as well as neighbouring towns and villages connected to the rich history of Asakanran. 


The week-long festival with the theme “Festival of Peace and Progress” is scheduled to begin on 2nd of December, with the grand finale taking place on December 6th, 2024, in the ancient Ibese land. 


Responding on behalf of the committee, Chief Dauda Olabimtan, the Amuludun of Ibese Land, a foremost business man and Chief Executive Officer of the popular Inasua Hotel, assured Kabiesi Aboro of their unwavering readiness to the task. He reiterated the committee's determination to make the 2024 edition a glamorous event with deep effort to preserving the rich cultural heritage and display of the ancestral Asakanran identity.

Asakanran Day (a.k.a  Asakanran festival/Odun Omo Asakanran) is a historical cultural event celebrated annually by large part of Yewa people, Ogun state in honour of their great ancestor Asakanran, a heroic hunter and warrior who founded some kingdoms making Ibese town the traditional headquarter.


The Festival provides a memorable spectacle for many Asakanran sons and daughters from home and across the continent to relish their rich cultural heritage as a people as well as draw a crowd of fun seekers including residents, local and international tourists and culture enthusiasts.


The well celebrated Cultural Festival is also an event dedicated to creating a platform to honour the past heroes for their contributions to the economic vitality, peace, and progress of Ibese Kingdom.
