Awori Group Announce Plan To Collaborate With Lagos State Government On Youths And Sport Development
The Chairperson of Awori Welfare Association of Nigeria - AWAN Youth and Women Development Committee, Mrs Folashade Fijagbade has said the entire Awori community in Lagos and Ogun State are ready to collaborate with Lagos State Government in the area of youths and sports development of the State, in order to compliment Government's efforts in fostering unity, peace and development of the Youths constituency of the State.
Mrs Fijagbade made this declaration earlier today while leading delegation of Awori Champions Cup Committee Committee to pay a working visit to the office of the Senior Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor on Grassroot Sports, Mr Adebanji Adeoye Atewogboye (Skibanj), at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Suurulere.
In her briefing, she commended Mr Adebanji Adeoye Atewogboye (Skibanj) for his steadfastness to the T.H.E.M.E Agenda of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu and for also making Awori proud.
The meeting went on to discuss on the proposed maiden edition of Awori Champions Cup. An exciting initiative of His Majesty, HRM. Oba Sulaiman Adekunle Bamgbade, Ayodele III, the Olofin of Isheri & Adimula of Awori Kingdoms, aimed at bringing together football athletes as well as provide a platform for youth development through football across various Awori kingdoms in Lagos and Ogun States. Mrs Fijagbade then announced the appointment of Mr Skibanj as the Co-Chairman of the Organizing Committee.
In his response, Mr Skibanj in his reputable omoluabi trait and as a proud son of Awori origin, he accepted and appreciated his appointment, after which he assured of his unalloyed commitment and readiness to the success of Awori Champions Cup as well as other initiatives that promote unity, youth development, and community growth of Awori land and Lagos State.
Other members of the delegation include; Ogbeni Ajibode Abd'kabir and Miss Akinwunmi Sofiat.
